The Race for the Hart

Let's talk about the most desired player award of all: the Hart Trophy. We have every type of player in the race, some experienced like Huselius, Gaborik and Evseev; some in their prime like Länsivuori, Defauw and Alarie; and some on the rise like Champagne, Merritt and Rejda. Here i'm gonna present my opinions about some of the top players in this race.

Marian Gaborik: He is my favorite, makes his teammates play better. He holds four Hart, four ARt Ross and one Selke trophies and is arguably the best player in the GHL history. Länsivuori and Rejda are good players, but the main fact they are putting up such numbers is Gaborik.

Vladislav Evseev: The fact that he generally playes the first half of the season better than the last shortens the chance of a repeat, the fact that his team is crowded with great forwards and he doesn't have his perfect linemate Thornton by his side anymore also does count. But he always have a chance.

Kristian Huselius: Minnesota's success this season is much related to this off-season signing, he has 1 Maurice Richard under his belt has been Minny's top player this season, he is selling more jerseys than Houde in that town! A good two-way play to go along with a perfect slapshot.

Yan Champagne: The league's sensation. Looks like he is gonna break goal record after goal record. it is him and other 11 forwards in Washington, he is the new Jaromir Jagr. I would bet on him in a Vegas purse.

Emilio Merritt: Could pretty much get this award if he can lead the Wings into the top 6 western teams, sure won't be easy. I could say he is the most complete player in the league and he can make his linemates play better at his side.

Robert Alarie: To me, the cream of the crop of the Iron 3. If that team succeds to make the playoffs, he would be the player most responsible for doing so. He has ton of takeaways, despite playing an offensive role, cause he is every time in the right place to hit'em down to the ice.
